i'm planning to volunteer at a hospital over the summer in their program, which consists of 40 hours. would this look good on a college application?
i'm not asking because I'M not going to do it if it doesn't look good...
it's just i plan on applying to ivy schools in the future and it certainly would help if it looked good.................

What you accomplish while volunteering and how the volunteering affects you will be more important than where you volunteered and how many hours you put in.

^Exactly. And is this a random addition to your application or something that fits in nicely with your other ECs/demonstrated interests.

wow, i think you guys are freaking out too much.

helping people is something i’m interested in.
my mom is a nurse… i don’t take a volunteering at a hospital as a joke or something materialistic like what you’re making it out be.

sorry, my last comment sounds disrespectful… and i didn’t mean to offend anyone.
I’M GOING TO VOLUNTEER AT THE HOSPITAL
because i want to.
in fact, i looked into it last summer but barely missed the deadline.
around me, enough people have died or suffered from a disease that i have learned to care and sympathize with those that are suffering now.
just clearing the air because i guess my first post made me seem kind of a selfish person… which i don’t think i am… or hope that i am not.

I think any volunteering looks good. I hope you enjoy it!
