<p>Anyone else get an invitation/nomination to apply for Summer Bridge? I received my application materials today. </p>

<p>Did you do summer bridge, or do you know someone who did? Is it worth applying?</p>

<p>I got one too. It seems interesting, but what worries me is the date for Summer Bridge. My school's graduation isn't until two days after Summer Bridge starts. Grr.</p>
<p>From what I've heard, Summer Bridge is a really great opportunity for in-state students to gain a foothold in Chapel Hill -- and I believe that the school pays for all of it?!?</p>
<p>Basically, you're able to get rid of some basic core curriculum requirements, adjust to the academic load and rigor of college, and get personal mentoring and support. I also think the ability to live with a group of people in the summer before college starts would be a valuable way to make friends early on.</p>
