I’m taking “CEPS0913: How the Legal System Works: Anatomy of a Case (CRN:*10190)” for 3 weeks (July 11th through July 29th), I’m from Georgia, so I’m almost sure I’ll be flying haha. Am I gonna see any of you there, as far as that class or those dates?

Yes! Someone from GA! I’m going during June 27 - June 8th though.

EliKresses, I’m going from the 11th through the 29th also!
However I’m taking an Egyptology course.

I’d have to agree with this. I also attended Summer@Brown last year, and I had an amazing experience, met some awesome people (some of whom I still keep in contact with daily), and learned a lot from my class. The professor was awesome, too. But, really, you’ll get out of it what you put into it because there were a buttload of people who were just there for fun and partying and stuff like that and didn’t care about the fact that they were enrolled in a course. You can still have fun and learn stuff, don’t get me wrong. I had a LOT of fun and wish I could go back this year (alas, I’m graduating). I just think it’s kind of a waste of money to go there to party, get caught drinking, and get kicked out of the program. But that’s just me. :P

I’d recommend bringing a fan because it got extremely hot when I was there. Make sure to hit up Thayer Street with its stores and restaurants and stuff. I personally packed waaay too many clothes that I actually wore. Be social. Go out to the Green when you have free time and meet new people.

See ya’ there “wordgirl”! I have a few questions for anyone who’s went in the past: It’s open campus other than curfew, so if I wanted I could take a cab to wherever, as long as I was back by curfew, right? And since there are alot of students who DON’T really try or participate, did you see that as having an effect on the way the classes were taught (attitude of your professor)? And lastly, is it worth it to bring my golf clubs?

still need my recs from my ap chem teacher. deadline is still may 23 right?

Bumpidy bumpidy?

Ohh, and Chicken, the program’s not too selective, but classes do fill up on occasion, so I’d do it as quickly as I could, were I in your shoes.

@EliKresses:
Yeah, you can go wherever. A group and I would go to the mall. Hop on a bus to get there. Cabs are kinda expensive. Just make sure you get back before curfew haha. And if you want to go home over the weekend or whatever, pretty sure you just need to check in with your RA and fill out a form or something. I stayed overnight every night, so I’m not too positive on how that process goes, but my roommate went home on the weekends because she got homesick.

And I didn’t really notice that, personally. It wasn’t like the kids were being disruptive or anything; it was more of they just sat at the back, sleeping or passing notes or checking fb or whatever. My professor was really chill and cool. I can’t speak for other courses, though, obviously, so it might differ depending on the prof.

Umm, I’m not sure if there’s a golf course nearby? If you’re driving and can bring whatever, then why not. But if you’re flying… haha. I don’t think I’ve ever seen someone with golf clubs, but I have seen people with tennis rackets and stuff.

Thank you for the information, you’ve been VERY helpful!

So excited! I’ll be there June 20-July 8 for the Intro to Design course. Anyone else in that class or there during that session?

Hey guys! I’ll be up there from July 25-August 5 - Political Theory of Human Rights. Anyone else going for that session?

Nope, but we’ve got some overlap. That course sounds quite interesting too.

Anyone taking the Entrepreneurship Leadership Seminar?
Anyone who took it last year who can explain how it worked and what the best part of the course was?

Hi guys. I applied for the precollege Brown program a while ago and I got accepted. I’m going to the July 11 to July 29. Also, I enrolled in this course…CEBI0904: First Aid for the Medicine Cabinet (CRN: 10087). Anyone going to the program this summer? If so, whats the course? Thanks! Hope to see ya’ll this summer (:

I believe we’ve already been introduced haha.

I have signed up for the June 27 to July 9 course called “Disparities in Global Health: Can Technology Triumph?”
Has anyone ever taken that course? If so, any comments/suggestions?
I was also wondering whether these 2 week programs at Brown are good. As in, do you learn a lot and are the professors good at teaching?

Hahaha yeah I can see that. I didn’t read the replies until just now. But anywho LOL hiii elikresses again! I’m so excited that I just want to pack right now, I know ferr sure I am so going to bring my whole room LOLOL

Hi, does anyone know if Brown is still accepting applications? I went onto their website and it said that they were; however I’m unsure if the website is updated regularly. I also saw courses that still were open…thoughts?

I’ll look into it for you tomorrow… it’s 4 AM here and my insomnia’s finally becoming overtaken by sleep(:
