I recently got an email from Brown saying funds for financial aid have been used up, but they also told me “If scholarship funding is critical to your ability to attend, but you have not yet submitted a deposit, you may wish to remain active in our application system. This would require no further action on your part.” Does this mean I could potentially get a bit of aid? And also, just to clarify, do I not have to say anything to them until I hear back from them again?

I got the same response from them. I think that because they set aside enough aid for kids who want to do the longer programs, when some choose the shorter ones, or choose to live off campus it frees up aid! I saw a story on here from last year from a girl who was deferred from aid on march 20th, and still got a full scholarship later.

Also what course were you applying for? Just curious :)

Okay so I still have a chance for aid for the 3 week program? By any chance do you know how long I would have to wait to hear from them? and I’ll probably take number theory or game theory wbu?

Depending on how many people applied for aid, and how many people applied before you, then you still have a chance. The girl last year said she was deferred on march 20th which is still a ways away, so she didn’t receive her scholarship for a while so be patient! And I want to take history of the modern Middle East, it’s a 2 week course

Alright thank you very much for clearing that up and that sounds cool!

Ya totally, and let me know if you hear back from them because I would assume that If you did I would soon as well because I just got deferred from the scholarship yesterday
