summer @ brown was the besttt summer of my life. i loved it. i still talk to people from summer @ brown over a year ago like every day. i made some of the best friends ever. i've visited one at college and one in florida, and i even ended up going on vacation and college tours with the one from florida. i do know a few people who have been rejected. they aren't terribly smart, but they do go to rigorous prep schools and do okay. i think that it's pretty self-selective though. people who aren't really into academics aren't going to want to go to class during the summer.

ohh i forgot to mention something. i know that they say that it won't increase your chances dramatically to get in or anything, but it's really weird because i went in for a meeting with a brown rep who came to my school, and the brown admissions officer for my school ended up being one of the RAs for my dorm, and he remembered me, and that was very exciting. so you may end up making some connections that may possibly increase your chance of getting in. also, your professor writes an evaluation of your performance that you get in the mail a month or two after the program's over, and you can always send that to brown. some professors even offer to write official additional recommendations.

A Brown rep is not the same as a Brown admissions officer. Reps could be alum or current students.

well at my school, the "reps" that come are the admissions officers who cater specifically to nj private schools... idk we don't have alum or current students come... i guess it's different at different schools

So your RA was much older? That's odd. I was under the impression that RAs for these programs were college-age.

yeah he was... he graduated last year, and now he's an admissions rep
