Anyone know of any? Boarding school review gave me 202 results and I looked at about 10 (all for ages 13 and up) and figured I’d hop over here for a possible short cut.
On a different note…
Haven’t posted or been around here FOREVER! Congrats to all the new boarding school students-to-be! And for those of you experiencing disappointment right now, as someone who went through it with my son last year and came up short in financial aid, I will say, that the disappointment eventually paved a brand new path that we would have never seen had last year’s dreams come true. So hang in there and keep your eyes open for those new shiny paths.
If your kids are artistic, they can began at Interlochen after third grade, I believe. Choate’s summer program begins in the summer after sixth grade as does NMH’s. Hope this helps.
How about CTY? Mine did it as a 10 yr old after 5th grade at Mount Holyoke College and later at Haverford.
Thanks for the suggestions! Going to look these up now. Interlochen is one I’ve heard of. I’ve spent a good deal of time lurking around their website and a couple years ago, I tried to get summer job as a creative writing teacher in exchange for camp tuition but they were fully staffed already. So yes, we are definitely looking for art-focused programs but they’re regular kids and love trying new sports and water activities, plus all the regular camp stuff.
My 10 year old is a 4th grader (October birthday).
