I’m looking for a summer business program but haven’t found a suitable one due to either not being accepted (MIT Launch) or the dates not working (USC, Endevvr). I’m a rising junior and don’t believe that my GPA is strong enough for LBW, but have good ECs. Are there any programs that start in July (FBLA Nats prevents me from doing earlier) that people have heard of?
ECs for reference:
- World Series of Innovation Top 3 (competition is ongoing)
- State FBLA Vice President
- 7th in Entrepreneurship at FBLA Nationals
- 1st in Entrepreneurship, 2nd in Sports/Entertainment Management, 2nd in Intro to Business at FBLA States
- Microsoft Office Specialist for Powerpoint 2010
- Started several successful online blogs, including a Google Plus page with 16K followers
- Active member of school’s DECA and Chess Team
- Competing this year in the National Economics Challenge (self-studying AP Econ)
I would say go for LBW, because your EC’s are very strong and you’ll never know what could happen. If not, check out LEAD (targeted towards minorities), other Wharton programs, or other summer courses at cornell, georgetown, or other colleges. Good Luck!
Has MIT Launch told you you’re not accepted?
Anyway, definitely look for some safer programs, but don’t lose hope on Launch until you’ve heard it directly from them.
@Woandering I haven’t heard back but I’ve started to look at other programs since I’ve heard that others have received an interview.
On the Endevvr and Launch thread? Where only one person received an interview? I say keep your hope, but also look at some safety programs, as I previously suggested, because what you’ve mentioned so far are all selective.
I’m looking especially at Babson 's Entrepreneurship Program and Wharton’s Sports Management Program (although idk if it’s easier GPA-wise) since I can’t do Endevvr. Does anyone have any experience with it?
