summer camps

<p>hello everyone. i was wondering what your views are on stanford summer programs for highschoolers.</p>

<p>do you think it's one of those things where the adcoms would just say "oh, this kid's parents had a lot of money and sent him/her to an expensive camp"?</p>

<p>or is it more like the Curie Academy at Cornell that gives a good impression of you and gives you a slight edge on getting in?</p>

<p>and, well, is it worth it?</p>

<p>i def wouldn't do a stanford camp just because it would help me get into my dream school - i would do it because i am eager to learn. but i guess what i'm wondering is: do you think it makes enough difference to choose it over another college summer camp? i know summer is a whole school year away, but many times admissions to these kinds of programs happen early in the school year and need planning.</p>

<p>I think the only advantage of the program at Stanford vs. other colleges is that you get to see more of the campus and possibly meet some Stanford profs.</p>
