I want to do something over the summer that's related to chemistry and looks good at the same time. I've done a lot of searching, but nothing good has come up. Unlike math, there are not many camps or summer programs for chemistry. I've thought about tutoring, but I'm not sure if that will look good and show colleges that I like chemistry, especiallly if a lot of students might be tutoring over the summer. Any ideas are welcome.

You could take classes at a CC.

Anybody else with ideas?

You started looking too late. Next summer, start in December. There are plenty of chemistry-based internships and research programs, but their deadlines range from February to April.

This sort of mentality just makes no sense to me. If you enjoy tutoring, then do it–it should never be about “what makes colleges more interested in me”. In fact, tutoring is great because it helps others, not just your resume.

If you don’t like tutoring, then the community college suggestion is the way to go, IMO.
