Just curious - canlt seem to find the answer on the Pitt site and I am sure someone here had encountered this...

My son is taking a summer class he needs for his major - Pitt approved the class curriculum.

Does the grade he gets in it count towards his GPA? Or does the credit transfer withou the grade counting?

Thanks

As long as the class is not at Pitt or a Pitt branch, I believe only the credits transfer.

That was our thinking too - thanks.

He really wanted to stay at take it at Pitt but our local community college was about $ 750 and Pitt was over $ 4000 + room & board. So home it was.

I’m taking a summer class through CCAC (pittsburgh area CC) and I asked this question to a few friends, one of whom asked Pitt since she was taking a summer class at a CC as well… and… only the credits transfer. Buut the grade might matter when applying to grad school/law school/med school or whatever… not totally positive about that one. Don’t think it matters if you’ll be continuing your education post bachelor’s degree at Pitt though…
