I start this summer and I was wondering if anyone knew how much aid students tend to get over summer? I was planning on taking 4 classes so I could get the most amount of aid (UCF gives out summer aid based on number of credits I believe) but now I'm thinking of only taking 2 so I can adjust, get a new job, all that kind of stuff.

I'm in dual enrollment and I'll have my AA next month so I could handle 3-4 summer B classes, but if I could get enough aid by only taking 2 I would prefer that.

I’m assuming you already found out, but let me stress something - if you’re receiving the pell grant, the maximum award each year is two full semesters. Meaning if you take classes both fall and spring term and receive maximum award each semester, there will be none left for the summer.

Yes I found out! I didn’t get the pell grant, so I’m assuming you need to be full time (12 credits) for that. Otherwise I should have gotten it since I didn’t take classes in the Fall/Spring of '12-'13. Luckily I ended up not needing it. Thank you! Now I know for next summer!

If you applied and qualify for the pell grant, then you should’ve received it if you didn’t take classes last fall and spring term. You don’t have to be full time over the summer.
