<p>Currently attending a 4-year university and taking summer classes at De Anza for the first time... I'm a little confused; could someone please familiarize me with the process? Do I need to take a Counseling class or something?</p>

<p>Are you just taking summer classes only to transfer them back to the 4 year? Or are you coming to a CC in order to transfer to whatever school? </p>
<p>If it’s the first option just sign up for whatever class you need. Counseling is only helpful if you’re planning to become a regular student throughout the year since you get a headstart on signing up for Fall classes.</p>
<p>It’s the first one, just looking for some extra classes to take over summer and transfer the credits! I got confused whether the counseling class was mandatory or not; thanks for your help (:</p>
