Hi, I'm currently a student at UCSB but I'm coming home to San Diego for the summer and I was wondering if it were possible for me to take summer classes at SDSU. I don't know anything about the process and I was also wondering if I were able to have financial aid for the summer too? Can someone with more knowledge than me provide me information and a guide to do this? I would greatly appreciate it; I know that SDSU is a great school.

I realize this is an older thread, but figured I’d respond.

You can’t hop universities for a summer, no. From my understanding, SDSU is not going to grant admission to somebody who is admitted elsewhere, much less for just a summer session. Your best bet is to go through a community college. Check with UCSB to see what/if the courses will transfer. A cc is a great place to fulfill GE requirements (I transferred to SDSU from one.) Hope that helps!

thats not exactly true. Each school is different. San Diego State allows non-matriculated students to take classes through the Open University Studies. You will not get financial aid for it though.
