Summer classes decision

So I need to take Calc 1 and Calc 2 for PSU and I want to try to get both of them over with this summer. The reason is I'm taking Orgo next year and from what people told me, its hell in a classroom. I don't want to take calc classes while taking orgo because I'm just an OK math student and might struggle. I feel taking both math classes over the summer would be a good thing on my behalf. Naturally I run into problems and some of them are as follows:

My local CC doesn't offer either class so this means I have to attend a private school which means a lot of $$.

St. Johns offers Calc 1 put its 1, 120 dollars a credit making a 4 credit calc class about 5, 000 dollars.

Adelphi University: Offers both calc 1 and 2 over a 2 session period. The problem is that I have to stay there for the whole summer if I attend so 1 credit is 845 dollars about making 2, 4 credit classes, 6,000 $. Plus a room would be 4, 000 for both sessions. Making a total around 10, 000 $.

I looked up the professors teaching the courses and their very good so I should do well in their classes. I might have to take out loans but is this even worth it? What are the other options besides taking calc at PSU?

bump…

Surely there’s more than one community college in your area. If it’s not in your county, it’ll cost you extra but less than $5,000.

There are but the credits will not be accepted by PSU

They won’t? Seriously? Also, if you’re just an “ok” math student, taking two challenging math classes at an accelerated rate might not be the best idea. Is there any way you could just take one?

It would be cheaper to do just one and you would have more time to study.

Yea but that means taking calc 2 at PSu where it might negatively affect my GPA. Plus the teacher at PSU doesn’t allow calculators which will be a big negative for me.

I’m just throwing it out there, Calc 2 is pretty difficult. I’m also an ok, not a great math student and I struggled with it during a full term semester. I wouldn’t recommend taking it over the summer. Is there anyway for you to postpone taking calc 2? Summer classes are not always easy, particularly math because you are cramming information constantly.
