Summer Classes to Reduce Workload

CoE student here.

I was planning on taking humanities and general elective courses at my local community college over the summer. I figure this will allow me to take around 13 credits per semester instead of 15-17, looking at the sample schedules for CoE majors.
With that, I can concentrate more on my core classes, do well, and just have less stress in general.
Is this a good idea? Will employers look down on this?

I’m doing the same thing, and I don’t think employers would give a **** about where you took a humanities class

^ 2nd that.

that Michigan will grant you the articulation credit from whatever CC you go to. Would’nt want to spend the summer studying hard only to find out UM doesn’t give credit for the class or gives credit, but not for a class that you need to satisfy the gened requirement.

otherwise, it’s a great idea and a money saver too. Michigan’s classes probably cost around $4000 (3 credit hours plus figuring a prorated room and board) versus $400 at your local CC, makes perfect sense.
