Hello. I am a current hs senior planning to transfer to a UC (hopefully Berkeley:)) in two years. I have been wondering if I should take some courses over the summer.

As I previously stated, I plan to transfer in 2 years, I'm not trying to get ahead or anything, so what are the benefits of taking summer classes?

Should I take summer courses? How many summer courses should I take?

I appreciate your feedback.

summer courses will help you sort out your major and give you a head start for school. it will relieve the course load number for your schedule over fall and spring.

Don't let summer courses scare you. Professors stand there and tell you that it is REALLY hard. It's not really hard, it's just time consuming. I suggest you take classes in only half of the summer session. Maybe the first half, so you can have a little break before fall starts.

I took two in one session and it wasn't hard. I even missed a week, legit reason, and still got an A in both classes.

Instead of taking Inorganic Chem and Physics in summer, take a bunch of easy classes instead, like Intro to Arts, Music Appreciation, Intro to Psychology, etc.
