In my class they told us we can take Chem 1A and 1B at a community college to get credit for what would be 3 semesters (Chem 127, 128, and 129) at Cal Poly. Does anyone know if I were to take them over the summer, if I could take them at the same time? Or do you think 1A is a pre-requisite for 1B? Thanks for any help :]

1A is a prerequisite for 1B for sure because they are in the same series.
Some majors only require the first general chem class (like EE) and some majors require the entire series.

It also really depends on the community college you go.
The ones that I have attended do not check prerequisites at all.
Also keep in mind that if you want to take both classes on the same session over the summer, you meet in the lab almost everyday. Are you sure there will be no time conflict for the labs?

Good Luck
