I'm a junior this year in a public high school in MA. During the end of sophomore year I applied to several boarding schools and got accepted to the Canterbury School and Miss Porter's School. I was enable to attend either (obviously haha) because my parents could not afford the tuition even with financial aid. Speaking of my parents, because it seems like ethnicity has a somewhat of a part in the application, they are from the Philippines, thus, I'm Asian. During my freshmen year I received awards in field hockey and lacrosse, same goes for sophomore year. I had all As of A+s, except for a B+ in Freshmen English because my teacher did not like my writing style, she thought it was too Jane Austen like (was pretty much obsessed, still am C:). Also, we did not have assignments that had to do with non-fiction texts, so creativity really took over the class. My other classes were IBE (intro to biology and earth science, I had to take it, my school made it mandatory), Honors French II, Honors Algebra, Mixed Chorus, and Honors World History. I got a certificate of merit for the National French Exam.

Sophomore year, I got all A's and A+s except for a B+ in AP US History I. The rest of my classes consisted of Mixed Chorus, Honors Geometry, Pre-AP English, Honors Engineering, Honors Physics, and Honors French III. I auditioned for the musical in my school and was casted. This year I also received 2 Faculty Awards for French and Engineering. I was also inducted into NHS.

This year, my junior year I take AP Physics B, Honors French IV, Honors Biology, AP US History II, Art, AP Language and Composition, and Honors Algebra II. I am not doing sports for the fall or winter but rather focusing my time on heading a huge community service project that has never been done in my city. I am also working to make my school more sustainable through healthier food purchased from local family markets as well as forming the only sustainability, green, environment, club my school has had.

Senior year I am planning on taking AP Physics C, Honors Pre-Calc, AP Literature, AP Gov, AP French, AP Environmental, Sophomore health half year (been putting it off :C), and possibly Portfolio the other half of the year.

I really wanted to apply to a summer college program to Princeton, but also any other IV league. I want to major in nuclear particle physics and I hear Princeton has a great research facility. In any case, I was hoping to experience college at an Iv league level. Also, forgot to mention, my GPA is above a 3.8 (my counselor wouldn't ell me exactly unless I filled out a million forms) and I am 5th in my class. What are my chances, if I stay on the road I am and continue to do more stand out things, that I will get into Princeton or other IV leagues? I realize this may seem like I haven't done research, I'll be honest I haven't, but I wanted to get opinions so that I may know if it is even worth applying. Recession doesn't exactly help. haha THANKS!
