Summer Course during college

Hi, I am a pre-med student from a NYC college. I am planning to apply to med schools this year, at the end of may I am taking the MCAT.

Most of my credits were transferred and i did not took physics 1 at my current college.

I want to take 2 summer courses in Physics 2 and English at Boston University (these are the only med school requirements left!!!)

Is it a good idea to take those two classes in the summer? I've heard that "it is not recommended".

Did you self teach physics? I would be much less concerned about taking physics this summer than I would about taking the MCAT before you took physics.

^agree completely
You could also defer English until the fall and have it listed as an “anticipated course” if it’s literally the only other pre-req missing. Do you even need this course? The english requirement isn’t really an “english” requirement, it’s a “writing intensive course” requirement.

My mistake, i forgot to say that i had already the full course of physics (1&2), but my current university accepted only one semester. for me physics is not a problem at all! What i am asking is about summer course for physics. Will it hurt my med school application.

How does the rigor of your old school compare to the new one? Even though your new school didn’t accept it, med schools see all grades from all colleges and universities so I’m inclined to say you’re in a rare situation where you’re being forced to retake a class and so it’s not as bad to do it during the summer. Is the only reason for doing it summer to have it done earlier? Your other physics will count towards med school so again, you could take physics 2 during the school year and give yourself more time to do other things this summer.
