I'm considering taking courses at UCLA during the summer, but I will also be enrolled at a community college that uses the quarter system similar to UCLA but ends the week that session A begins. I'm thinking about asking my professors to take my exams a week earlier so I can attend summer session. If everything goes well, is it still okay for me to enroll to take summer classes at UCLA or will the university not let me? Also, I'm considering taking about two classes, would you consider this too much? And what's the average number of courses and units one takes during a regular quarter?

Are taking courses at UCLA during the summer worth the cost. I plan on taking two classes for two different sessions, is this a lot? And it totals to around 8,000 or so with room and food expenses? Is this worth it compared to taking courses year round at 23,000 or so. Also how are costs of classes calculated during the year in comparison with summer?

what classes are you planning on taking, and what's your major? from experience, I can tell you that getting rid of some of your ochem or LS classes in the summer can be very advantageous for the following academic year, since you won't have to take 3-4 LD science classes a quarter. not too sure how much help it would be for other departments

for summer sessions 8 units is equivalent to full-time status, so that's probably why people take 2 classes... but since it's the summer, i don't see any problems with just being half-time student for both summer sessions.

I also want to know more reactions about taking Physics at UCLA summer school vs. taking it at Santa Monica City College. It looks like they changed things this year to having two summer sessions. My son actually wanted to take Linear Algebra plus a semester of Physics this summer, but this does not appear to work out with the UCLA summer school for the first session.

I'm a transfer student and I've read that transcripts won't be received until fall. A lot of my classes have requisites or recommended requisites, but I've taken the courses already, what do I do about this?
