We’ve been looking at summer programs and came across Summer Discovery, which has programs at a number of US campuses and in Cambridge (UK.) Does anyone have experience with the Cambridge program? The course that interests my daughter is on International Relations. For us as parents, the goal is to help her figure out what she likes/doesn’t like as she gets closer to college, and to give her a chance to spend time abroad without us. It’s not about padding a college application.
This is for a HS sophomore/rising junior.
She’s also looking at Summer Discovery’s program in Sports Business at UCLA, but I’m not sure she’s as interested in that one. However, any feedback is appreciated. Anyone have experience with that?
These programs are quite pricey, but it seems ALL the summer programs at colleges are quite pricey, especially those that are longer than a week. (Cambridge would be three weeks, UCLA would be two.) So we’re trying to look at the overall experience and what she’d get.
