This is great. I see 2 programs that are applicable to my son. Thanks!

Dartmouth has one of the earliest fly in programs. It is in the summer and you apply in May, I believe.

sax2groove2- Have your son apply early and widely.

T- One of my kids is in that DB brochure.

laerninginprog, another fantastic resource from you!!! I wish I had known about some of these for my older kids. Youngest is a junior this year so she’s applying to a couple for next summer…you could also add the NSLI-Y summer language study, not strictly for AA at all but they value diversity…and STARTALK also run by the state department I think. We know kids who have done these and had really outstanding experiences.

Thanks again SO much for providing these lists. My current senior scoured your diversity fly-in list, applied to her 7 favorite colleges offering programs and was accepted to 5 (she’s flying home from Pomona, her last visit, as I type this:)). She could have applied to quite a few more programs if time had allowed, but 5 was pushing it with everything else that life as a senior involves. In fact I got a letter from her dean of students saying she had missed 79% of her classes first semester :p. But anyway, those opportunities have had a HUGE impact on how she’s ranking and submitting college applications, and also have given her so much practice with traveling and functioning independently outside of familiar environments.
Again, thank you so much for taking the time to share all this information with other families!

I just discovered that the Notre Dame program above has an error link. Here’s the live one: [Science, Ethics, and Responsibility // Office of Pre-College Programs // University of Notre Dame](http://precollege.nd.edu/leadership-seminars/science-ethics-and-responsibility/)
Can you change it in your original post?

That same Notre Dame leadership program offers two other fully funded seminars: [Global Issues - Toward a Just Peace // Office of Pre-College Programs // University of Notre Dame](http://precollege.nd.edu/leadership-seminars/global-issues---toward-a-just-peace/)
and [American Arts, Popular Culture, and Social Change // Office of Pre-College Programs // University of Notre Dame](http://precollege.nd.edu/leadership-seminars/american-arts-popular-culture-and-social-change/)
“Expenses for students accepted to Leadership Seminars —including transportation to and from Notre Dame— will be paid for by the University. Approximately 100 students are admitted to Leadership Seminars each year, and students are eligible to receive one college credit upon completion of the program.”

HoneyBee,
You are quite welcome.

I perused the NSLI-Y and STARTALK websites. It appears the deadline for both have already passed. Or my eyes may be decieving me. Can you confirm?

Glad to hear about your DD acceptances to the fly-in programs. Having had my kids go through some of these programs, they were really helpful to determine what they liked and didn’t.

Regarding the broken links- This will happen as some of these programs update their pages each year. Google can be your best friend on occasion.

So continue to add to the list for prospective applicants.
