I have more or less completed all my essays for Princeton but I am still not sure about my summer essay.

Are we supposed to make it sound interesting and use phrases and writing skills or are we to blatantly mutter all the things I did? Like my 11th grade summer vacation was spent more or less in traveling. So am I to give background information about where I traveled to?

What is the word limit? My first summer took me 278 words even though th was my 'fun' summer. The 12th grade summer had more of substantial stuff!! The word limit is not specified, so according to you what would be the apposite limit?

I did a quick search about the summer essay on this board and it seems that some wrote fairly long essays and others wrote fairly short ones. Mine is about 450 words and 20 characters under the limit but I will probably shorten it.

I was wondering about this too. Is the summer essay supposed to be an anecdotal account that goes in depth about your personality and qualities or is it merely an objective summary report about what you have done?

I’ve been researching the whole site…and it seems the character limit is 2500 characters ( with spaces) because in the online submission any character after the 2500th one is truncated when printed…

I am still not sure about this…does anyone have any clue???

P.S. @YM1992…I AM NOT DONE WITH THEM…i am on my 2nd or 3rd drafts…so it is more or less done!! :)

@Englishsprout…I have the same question…so I tried a mixed version…not very objective and neither very detailed…am at around 2480 characters…though I’d still try making it more terse!!
