Summer/Fall 2013 Decisions Thread

Accepted yesterday to Fall 2013. X) I didn’t think I’d hear back so quickly.

@ashleyhughes8 Congrats! When did you apply??

Two weeks ago. They got my transcripts last week. My school was slow in getting them sent and stuff.

Ah gotcha. I applied on the 14th, and they got my transcripts on the 18th. Then I got an email from somebody saying that my transcript didn’t have my senior coursework on it, and that I needed to have a new one sent to them… so I talked to my counselor, and she showed me what the copy looked like and it had everything, so I have no idea. I’m hoping they have all that they need and will let me know soon about whether or not they’ll accept me… this waiting is killing me, lol.

Oh yeah. You’ll probably hear from them in a week if they’re not being stupid. I just checked your stats. You’ll get in.

Thanks! I’ve survived one week, I guess I can survive another lol

Got accepted a few hours ago for Summer!

Accepted, 2.67 unweighted GPA, 3.0 weighted GPA, 1860 SAT (540R/740M/580W), 29 ACT, 6 APs total, 10+ honors/ap total

So last week my family and I went down to Disneyworld for spring break, and while we were there I got the chance to walk around the Hospitality campus - never went to the main campus, because it’s of course an hour long drive from there and I was tired of sitting in the car. But I loved the campus, and I know it’s where I want to be for college.

I was originally offered summer admission, and with it being two short months away, I figured it wasn’t enough time to prepare myself and things. Plus, the loan I’d have to take out (being that I’m an OOS) was pretty ridiculous. So I decided it might be best if I just do a year of college here in my state since I’d be getting $4,000 from the HOPE scholarship and all, and then by the time I actually do go to UCF, I would have most, if not all of my general ed classes completed.

But then I got this email (that I never noticed to begin with), which they ended up emailing again this morning saying that they reviewed my application again, and are offering me Fall admission if I’d prefer that over Summer. So I decided I’m going to accept it and figure out how I’m going to get my loan down to something “manageable”.

For anybody that is an OOS attending UCF - any suggestions? I really don’t want to graduate, and have a $140k+ loan to deal with. I want to get that down to at least 50-80k, so yeah.
