I got in COLA… I thought I had zero chances of getting in and I’m not even that smart.
Out of state CC transfer student
GPA: 3.4
Credit hours: 60~
Letter of rec: 0 (professor said he didn’t have enough time to write it because midterm week)
Extracurricular: no work experience, membership in a few clubs, traveled to a few countries.
Essays: Essay A & E was god tier. I knew it had to be the essay’s that would get me in.
Looks like I’ll be on campus this fall, see you guys there.
I feel like they won’t post decisions on the weekend so maybe we’ll have to wait until next week! We’re all in this together, pals :~) Next week will be very nerve racking.
Congratulations to everyone who was accepted already! I think like in the past they are going passing out acceptances by transfer GPA! As I stated before, my transfer GPA was lower than what I expected so I’m not expecting a decision from COLA anytime soon. Lol. Hang in there everyone!
anyone thinks this week will be the last week for COLA release their decision?
I check the past thread people said UT may release few decision to test their system first.
but I saw most acceptance was from COLA and major in Economics.
Since my major is Economics too, I think I have been denied but my status has not shown yet. :((
@MathMeany I was a fall applicant. Also, just a note to people that have already been accepted. If you do all the required things to do on MyStatus and also submit your meningitis immunization records, you can go to the Flawn Academic Center, the building to the west of the Main Building, and get your ID card. I got mine today, and I still can’t believe this is really happening.
COLA Psychology B.S.
3.55 GPA @ 51 hours
Schools attended:
Belmont University (Honors)
Houston Community College
Member of Psi Beta and Phi Theta Kappa
3 strong recs from professors, one a UT alum
3 strong essays- writing is my forte and the topics were strategically chosen, mostly personal or relevant to my major
I wish ya’ll the best of luck and congratulations to the people who have already been accepted. This school is extremely selective. I applied three times. Don’t ever give up, the results will pay off. Hook 'em!
