Yo guys I’ve been stalking CC for years, and more recently this thread.
From what I’ve read and heard from the admissions office, they’ve been consistently telling us that the decisions for over 30 hours will be distributed by May 15, which sucks because of a lot of things (notably housing). I wish they put more consideration to future students in this regard.
@MyUTAustin@MyLonghorn Hey everyone! I just came across this forum and was hoping y’all could give me some insight. My stats are as follows if anyone wouldn’t mind assessing my chances…

Public Relations Officer of Entrepreneurship Club
1st choice major: Moody School of Communications (Advertising)
2nd Choice: COLA (Economics)

Fundamentals of Oral Communication
Composition 1
Intro to Environmental Management
Health
American History (1492-1876) & (since 1876)
Calculus I
Statistics
Intro to Psychology
Applied Mathematics
Currently taking:
Astronomy
Comp II
US Gov

Intro to Visual Arts
Also… A woman in the admissions office told me that I would “be in the first pool of decisions and those start going out mid April”… but I haven’t heard yet! What do y’all think?
@Nayplaya14 , the stats are awesome but I think you may need Calculus II for Economics. The website states: “Calculus Requirement: Economics majors must take one of the following calculus sequences: M408C and M408D or M408K and M408L (and M408M for students in the 08-10 or prior catalogs). Equivalent transfer credit is acceptable.
Business Calculus (M403K and M403L and their equivalents) does not satisfy the calculus requirement for the economics major.”
But it doesn’t say that they are pre-requisites for the transfer. All in all, you sure look like a great candidate.
@Kyotoraz@JD1327 Haha I’ve heard that from many people! Is it the school or the location? I’m sure I could deal with Lubbock for a while if I need to, but if TT is that bad that’s a different story–may have to give UH another look. Definitely considering A&M, I applied for fall 2015 there as well. The problem is my major, Petroleum Engineering. UT and A&M have the no. 1 and 2 undergrad programs in the country–making them both very competitive. TT’s program has >90% job placement and is still ranked better than UH–UH’s program is relatively new. So TT is sort of a last resort lol. Just a means to an end.
@MathMeany It’s absolutely terrible to be completely honest. Especially if you’re not a huge greek life type of person. The city can’t get more boring and the school itself is the best (besides the architecture). I came here on a scholarship and I would much rather pay tuition at UT than go free at Tech. So far this is probably one of my most anticlimactic years I’ve lived through. I know not everyone feels like this but coming from the inner city of Houston I tell you it was an awful transition from the energy capital of the world to a town in the middle of nowhere that has more dust storms in one year than rainfall.
Welp, tomorrow marks one week since we first (and last) heard of decisions being out. I’m kinda starting to give up on this week honestly. But for some reason a part of me sees that one week is significant and maybe we’ll hear something more.
@MathMeany I completely agree with @Kyotoraz. I was at tech also and yeah I would visit the campus first if you are thinking about going. The first time I visited Lubbock was for ttu’s freshman orientation and I wish that I would’ve looked into it more before making my decision. Some of the people there actually really like it but I wasn’t one of them so like I guess it just takes a certain type of person to enjoy that school lol
Major: Film
GPA: 3.81 ( 40 hours of transferable coursework)
Transfer from: Tarrant County College (Community College in Fort Worth)
I had 1 recommendation letter
2 essays (put a lot of work into those)
Some Volunteering (not too much though)
Im on Deans List, but I dont know if that matters much. Also I am German and moved here 2 years ago. Maybe they are more likely to accept international people? Would be interesting to know
