Ugh. I feel like decisions are a no for this week. I might die if I have to wait until May 1st. Part of my mind says “If I’ve waited this long I can wait a little longer” and the other part says “Maybe in the afterlife you don’t have to wait for admission decisions”

Hello! I’ve been stalking this thread for the last month. I applied to McCombs… and like most of you guys, I’m still waiting to hear from UT! I also applied to Mays at Texas A&M, and I got accepted last Tuesday. Hope my stats will give some hope to the people who applied to Mays.
-Major: Accounting
-GPA: 3.21 (75 hours of transferable coursework – I know 3.21 is pretty low… however, my cumulative
GPA since 2011 is 3.94. Several bad grades from a university that I attended almost 10 years ago
pulled my GPA down to 3.21 when Texas A&M and UT calculated it.)
-Transferring from: Lone Star College System (I also went to ACC)
-5 great recommendation letters (2 ACC professors - one’s an UT alumnus, 2 LSCS professors - one’s
an A&M alumnus, and an interpreter who’s an UT alumna)
-2 essays that I finished in two days… didn’t really put much work into them
-Very little volunteering
-Two years of work experience as a marketing associate and on-call cash office associate
Done with Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, and Calculus I. Taking Calculus II right now.
I’m guessing that A&M recognized the upward trend in my academic performance ever since I went back to school in 2011. I should mention that I’m deaf… I’ve no idea if that played a part in my acceptance to Mays.

The waiting just drives me crazy. There is so much that needs to be done…but I can’t do anything until I find out… Cruel and unusual punishment if you ask me haha

Unfortunately I won’t hear for awhile since I have to finish my 30 hours, but my brother got accepted into International Relations and Global Relations today! He was really surprised and excited because his recalculated transfer GPA was pretty low (3.37 I think) due to some older dual credit classes. He is transferring from UTD with 72 hours (had a 3.6 there I think), played college soccer, good essays, 1 good recommendation letter, and was selected by Apple for an internship last fall. He has been working there almost full time for the last year.
Good news for people with a lower GPA thinking there is no chance. They really do seem to be looking at things holistically (at least for schools other than Cockerell and McCombs!) Good luck to everyone waiting! Mine wait seems eternal!!

Judging by this thread, it seems like not a lot of people apply for the corporate communication major in the moody college, maybe that means less competition for me 
but I checked mystatus a second ago and have received no news.
