When they send the acceptances, do they send an email out as well? Or is everyone just finding out from My Status?
I think it’s MyStatus and then they’ll send you an actual letter later @Hryupandwait.
Yeah, I don’t think they send any email, just a letter by mail.
Thank you :). …trying to stay patient. Glad to hear CNS is rolling in…I hope it rolls my way.
Come on CNS!! I believe in you! :D/
@MyUTAustin Sure! Here are my stats:
-Texas Tech, Honors College
-3.85 GPA, Entered Tech as a freshman with 27 hours from AP, took 17 hours in fall and taking 18 this semester.
-Applied to CNS 1st choice: Biochemistry 2nd choice: Neurobiology
-I wrote three essays. They were good, not the best.
-1 amazing LOR from my APUSH teacher in high school
-I was in 13 clubs in high school and held 6 officer position and a few awards from UIL academics and athletics. I am in 5 clubs this year, but I don’t have any officer positions.
@Hryupandwait I did not get my decision by email, and I still haven’t received an email from the admissions office. I just checked MyStatus
Again, good luck to all of you still waiting for decisions!
@rjc016 Glad to see from one from Tech get in. I don’t know if I can wait until June.
Does anyone have insight on whether it is generally easier to transfer in the fall or the spring?
I’ve been reading through the Fall 2014, Spring 2015 and this transfer thread and I’ve seen it referenced both ways. One mentioned that fall was easier because there are less spaces available for spring transfer students. But if an applicant for the fall doesn’t yet have 30 hours and is waiting until the June time frame for a fall decision my thought is spring could be potentially easier since you would then have the 30 hours and maybe can get the decision made at the front of the application process (maybe before spaces fill up)?
Also, does anyone have the statistic on transfer acceptance rate for COLA? Thanks!
Thank you @MyUTAustin and @ecollin! I’m really really excited.
Here are my Stats:
-Georgia Institute of Technology, Aerospace Engineering Major
-3.58 GPA, entered GT as a freshman with 14 hours from AP, will have 41 hours total after this semester…
-Applied to CNS 1st choice: Mathematics 2nd choice: Cockrell, Aerospace Engineering
-Three essays that were heavily revised by professors and family members.
-2 great letters of recommendation from an employer at an Internship last summer, and old lacrosse coach.
-I was in many clubs in high school and held 2 officer position plus class vice president.
-4 time letter winner in two sports in highschool.
-At GT I was high up in the GMC corp of AFROTC, and I play lacrosse there as well.
@Bpositive15 If you have the prerequisites complete by Spring, I guess you should definitely apply sooner. Noone stops from applying again for Fall if rejected, right. Previous year threads on this forum have more acceptances in Fall, so I think it’d be easier to get in Fall but it’s always a relative factor based on the applicant pool and your own stats and very tough to comment either way. Cockrell is not even open for spring transfer.
Sending in my midterm grades through the Document Upload System. Hope it helps
I think we’ll even get a chance to upload out final grades as well lol…the results are not rolling, just trickling in…
@MyUTAustin can you add me to the list? Here are my stats
Transferring from Blinn
-Sophomore
-3.05 cumulative on 38 Hours
-Taking 15 Hours this semester and will finish with a 3.8 for the Spring, which will bring my cumulative up to a 3.26
-Strong Essays
-Strong LOR from former professor in the English Department
-College applied for: Moody (Advertising), Secondary COLA (Econ)
-Active Community Service, Varsity Lacrosse, Letter in Choir, Senior Class Secretary in HS
Completed my application in early February and am still waiting.
Thanks !
Now this wait is getting too stupid.
Sure @InDaBuilding , added to my list and will post it soon. I hope the wait is not going to be long now and most of us will hear this week.
does anybody know how to check the classes that transfered and the process to change majoors
@nikecheck check this out for transfer courses http://www.utexas.edu/student/admissions/tccn/
@stevenjp that is a good idea! However, you may want to have your school send them. If you upload them yourself I dont think they count as “official” transcripts.
