Just got admission into CNS- Comp Sci!
@JMag95 UT has a very strong program in Computer Science and Computer Engineering. The job fairs have top companies interviewing at UT for internships.
My son and his friends have had multiple internship offers each year - starting in freshman year. Internships have been in Austin and all over the country. They have usually got offers at the Fall job fairs with more calls to interview from companies coming to the Spring fair. However one usually has a few weeks at each company to decide to take an offer.
Berkeley and Georgia Tech may be as high or higher in rankings, but competition may be fierce at those schools. My son choose UT over all the other engineering schools he got into (some higher ranked than UT) and has not regretted his decision.

@Hryupandwait Right? Why can’t they just release all the decisions all together? Some people got into CS yet I’m in review…does not help with anxiety/self esteem.

@EventHorizon32 After going back over my original research for the schools I ended up applying to (UT Austin, USC< Washington), I’ve decided to bump UT Austin up to #2 behind Washington. I’m not really sure/don’t remember why I made USC my #2 decision over UT Austin, but I do know I want to go to an elite computer science program and UT Austin definitely has a better one than USC.
Since Washington doesn’t get back to students until June/July, I decided I will accept admission to UT Austin.
@JMag95 Congratulations! Good decision (hard to not accept a CS or ECE offer from UT).

Let’s hope McCombs will start sending out acceptances/rejections soon! I’ll be going to Aggieland on Saturday to meet up with potential roommates and look at possible places to live for the '15-'16 school year, but I hate not knowing whether I’ll get accepted to UT or not. Am sure most of you can relate!
Called admissions and asked about decisions from McCombs. He said that “if you have not heard back already it will probably be around June 1st…” Just depressing!
I’m in a dilemma. I’ve said on this thread before that I actually got into UT Journalism as a transfer after my freshman year last year, but declined it because I got promoted to an editor at the campus paper at the school I’m at right now. I recently found out that if I stay at where I’m at, I am getting promoted again, but this time to the managing editor. UT has always been my dream school, and I don’t want to have any regrets, and maybe I can chase similar opportunities there (although I know it will be tougher). But I have a good thing going here, and am really conflicted on what I should do (IF I get in again). Just another reason I wish the decisions come out soon. Really want to make this choice and move on!
@aksamq8 You go to UNT right? How do you like it? That is actually backup plan as of now, though their financial aid package was pretty nice for me…
@cdctransfer it’s a good school! I’ve never been in love with it, but I’ve liked it. UT has just always been my dream school. What are you majoring in?

How well do I have of chance to be accepted? I think I’ll have a higher chance after my grades are put in for this semester. I think I’ll have at least a 3.6-3.7. But I was wondering if there is problem if I only took one science class. I have taken 1406 but not 1407 and I don’t want to that to be the small issue for my admission. HELPPP
