Summer/Fall 2015 Transfer Thread

Anyone have an idea when applicants that are completing their 30 hours hear back?

Wow, this really, really sucks. Not only will I probably not hear back for another month but if they double the competitive students then I probably won’t get in as an out of state. It’s gonna be horrible waiting just to hear a rejection…

Based on the 2014 Fall application thread there was a wide range in the response time for those waiting to have over 30 hours. Some look to be as late at June 16. But some also look to be a couple of weeks earlier than that. Maybe that depends on when the final spring grades were provided to UT and what college or 2nd choices were chosen.

Hey everyone, I have been watching this thread for the past two months and I finally got admitted to CNS for Computer Science. Don’t give up hope if you’re still waiting! Be patient guys! I wish all of you the best of luck!

@cubedreams Can you please post your stats?

Congratulations!! @cubedreams , can you post your stats too.

accepted into COLA 4/24, but i want to switch into CNS does anyone have an idea how?

Sure thing!

• Transfering from Community College in Dallas
• Current GPA: 4.0
• College of Natural Science
• 1st and only choice: Computer Science
• Essays were Average, nothing special.
• 1 recommendation letter from College Algebra Professor
• Finished Cal 1 and currently in Cal 2
• No volunteer hours or extracurricular activities
• Currently have 47 credit hours

Feel free to ask anymore questions guys.

@nikecheck You will have to transfer internally.

Hang in there guys! I hope everyone gets a decision soon  To the people that have been accepted did you already check on where to live? I probably head to Austin next week to see whats available

@Geekytheatregeek Nope! Sorry.

@cubedreams when did you apply? How long have you been in review?

what time did you hear your admission decision? i honestly think you are lying because your stats are very mediocre at best

Cmon now @HHxGGx lets keep a good tone. First of all, why would anyone lie about being admitted? Second, we have no idea why this person was admitted at this time. Maybe they have outstanding essays, great extracurricular etc. Maybe their application just happened to come in the hands of the right person at the right time to be admitted early. None of us really knows how and why people get accepted earlier than others. I know it is frustrating, but try and be happy for the ones admitted, or at least not accusing others of lying.

yep agreed, he’s just trying to help folks who are still waiting. This thread has no meaning unless folks accepted or rejected also participate…
Once again, Congrats @cubedreams , please let us know of any of your experiences that you think might help others.

@ecollin are you naive enough to think people dont lie over the internet? Maybe you should read the thread before posting. He posted his stats already and it is clear that they are mediocre compared to most people here. and UT has the audacity of stating that those who have “exceptional” stats will be notified ealier than June. This would not be as aggravating if he had applied to liberal arts, which is easy to get in. He got in with mediocre stats to the CS major, one of the most competitive majors in UT. So yes, there is a good

reasons to believe whether he is lying or the admissions people are just incompetent

If a 4.0 is “mediocre” to you then I will assume you are just a squidward who can’t be happy for people. Take that negative attitude outside; YOU GET NOTHING, GOOD DAY SIR

I did read the stats, and I certainly think this person (with a 4.0, LOR and a lot of credits) would be among the first to be accepted. There is no point of being on this forum if you are going to accuse others of lying just because things are not going your way. I am annoyed for not getting my acceptance too, but what is the point of dragging down the ones who did? Again, if you are not going to believe what others are saying here, you are just wasting your time.

Yeah lets keep the negativity out and retain the positive environment. The last thing we need is incompetence while we wait for a response.
