Summer/Fall 2015 Transfer Thread

@ecollin Good to hear you have Mays Business School as your backup. I also applied couple other universities. I got into Umich but the major is economics which I do not think will help me for future IB career. Also, Fordham University in NY accept me as finance student. Don’t know which I should choose. Still wait for brandeis USC UTA… I believe you will get into McCombs!!!

@MyLonghorn What is an easy COLA major that you would recommend that I apply for? Should I make that major my first choice, to guarantee my admission? The only thing is that my essay discusses mechanical engineering.

Is College of geological sciences another potential school I can apply in?

Thanks to everyone that congratulated me! I know you guys have been very patient and I hope you all hear good news soon. I’ll keep checking the thread for any questions.

@HHxGGx I got into CS major too, I can confirm that they were posted late at night. I found out around 4-5 in the morning when I checked, and I checked at around 10 PM the night previous.

MathMeany, after today’s spirited discussion your link provided on April 25 is sooooo relevant…it was worth the read.

If we don’t find out by tomorrow night I might cry a lil.

Aww @summeroo …but you’re the cutest baby tapir on this thread, don’t cry, we’ll hear soon

@slzSLZ Do not go to Fordham for finance. I’m a current student at Rose Hill transferring and accepted into UT Austin for Econ and I will honestly tell you that Fordham sucks. Awful job fairs, weak alumni network, no sense of community, and is in a city that absolutely suffocates you. Good luck getting your foot in the front door anywhere.

Took me 4 semesters to decide that I didn’t want to be here anymore, but at that point I missed fall applications for Fall 2014 so I took a GAP YEAR just so I could transfer out. Maybe I didn’t network hard enough or talk to the right people, but I read up on the WallStreetOasis and several other forums and realized that Fordham is just too difficult to break into BB in New York (without becoming the next Patrick Bateman) so I’m hitching my ride out of here.

Good luck if you decide to go there.

Hey y’all, I’ve been following the thread for a while but hadn’t posted anything til now. FYI I am just as desperate to hear back as all of you guys so, in order to (hopefully) ease my nerves a little), I was hoping you would tell me what you think about my stats. Here you go:
GPA: 3.71
Credit hours when applied: 35
Projected spring 2015 GPA: 3.78
Credit hours by the end of this semester: 50
First choice: Advertising (Moody)
Second choice: COLA undeclared
Extracurriculars: over 120 hours of community service, member of Phi Theta Kappa, I also threw in some of my work experience (minimum wage jobs only), studio art classes
Solid state of purpose essay, average second essay
Recommendation letters: 1 from hs marketing professor, 1 from intro to mass comm professor (Moody Graduate)
Other:
-all my tx core requirements finished
-Also fulfilled the second language courses required by Moody

still waiting… any acceptances from anyone this morning?

None here 8-}

Still in review. >.<

and haha thanks @Hryupandwait, my tapir and i will remain strong

Congrats!!! Yesterday, I called UT to ask about my Cal II issue, they said I can choose economics as my second choice just in case I did not get into McCombs. I thought the location of Fordham can help a lot? Is it hard to get a finance job or top finance job for Fordham Finance graduates? What do you think about the chance of econ major in target school to break into BB? Thank you

9 Days until I send my final transcript!
The end of the wait is near(ish)! I’m hoping that my decision will be fast because I had my COFA audition back in March, and during the interview they said I should know late May/early June. Here’s to hoping that it is late May!

Just found out that a few different people from my CC have been denied acceptance to MechE over the past few weeks. Perhaps that is good news for those of us that are still waiting.

I have a feeling Cockrell decisions won’t be released until June

@Geekytheatregeek 10 days for me! A little over a month left for us

No decision yet for me, so depressing to see that “in review” screen with a silver lining it might be somewhat good to be still in review and not rejected. This wait will be in memory for a long long time.

well, still waiting for a decision. CNS cs major T.T

Same here! But i changed it to off campus, because im here alone with a legal guardian, so im considered independent and dorms only lease 9 months …( i need the whole year)
We should totally create one!
