Final grades were just uploaded. 5 As and 1 B for this semester. Unfortunately that 1 B was in a 4 hour class bringing me down to a 3.778. I had a 3.8 last semester so my cumulative GPA is 3.788. Not what I wanted, but it happens. Now to send off my transcript! I just signed up for two summer classes to keep up with my degree plan.
Now the real anticipation begins! 15 people are in my major. Let’s hope I’m one of those 15 selected!

@Yoohooos , I’m not kidding. One W in isolation should not really matter and that too when clubbed with a mountain of 3 A’s in strong technical courses, will make the transcript all the more impressive. I wouldn’t worry too much. The W’s affect more when they see several of them showing more of a pattern of you running away from tough courses. In your case it’s just a 1 credit thing, I feel they wouldn’t even pause on it while looking at the transcript.
@temoc22 , Do you know if UT calculates the GPA in their own way and takes away our “+ & -” system. I’m also plagued by our UTD grade system. I didn’t know to look at my calculated GPA on the Fin aid sheet before submitting and now it doesn’t show up anything there, so don’t know what they calculated for me. If they take our “A-” as an A since I got >92% for that “A-”, I’ll be in the 4.0 ring for overall GPA.
@MyUTAustin your GPA is not changed by UT when your transcript is sent , so if you got a A- at UTD the GPA that you get for that semester will be sent to UT and UT will accept that GPA , so an A- will be an A-

For everyone applying to Moody I just got off the phone with admissions and I was told that we could expect decisions during the first week of June. I mention this because someone posted earlier that it might be August before we heard anything. That person is either severely misinformed or being untruthful. I hope it’s the former and not the latter…
Does anyone know when and where we go to claim AP credit? I feel like it’d be more convenient to have that all sorted out before orientation…
Also, is the August orientation for those who can’t make it to any of the other orientation times? I don’t see it listed anywhere on the chart that shows which majors are represented at which orientation.
Thank @iantpunchy thats a good update for those applying to Moody! Honestly, I have called admission several times (I did not apply to Moody though) and it seems like every person I talk to says different dates. (One lady even told me that a lot of people hear back one or two days after classes start in August… which just does not make any sense at all.) Hopefully we will all hear back soon!
Okay y’all I just called as well and mentioned the August date to her and she laughed out loud and said there is no truth behind that whatsoever! She said that we should hear in early June.
@MyUTAustin I got A in 4 technical classes this semester and a B+ on another technical, Would that be okay :’( . If you said this earlier, I would have drop it already :’(
@MyUTAustin My technical are: Cal Phy Chem and another Engineering class, and the one I’m earning B+ is CS class

@Yoohoos what was your backup cause that B+ , may have ruined your chances for Pet E , sorry to say … i read in last years thread a guy with a 3.9667 got rejected
