Summer film schools

Hey everyone my first question is what are some good summer film programs, competitive or not

Also, how competitive is it to get into USC/NYU's summer film courses? I mean if its super competitive I really dont want to pay a $75 application fee and end up not getting accepted.

My nephew who is totally into film went to a program at Chapman College in California. It is my understanding that Chapman is becoming the new “hot” film school because of the Dodge School of Film and the ton of money it has received. My nephew told me the equipment was incredible and top of the line. I think the program was through Duke Tip program but at Chapman College. My nephew who is now a h.s. senior loved it and said it was one of the best.

I know there is one at Northwestern that a lot of people talk about as well as the NYU Tish program. My son’s friend who sent to NYU’s summer program loved it but it was costly. She (who is a current freshman) thinks it helped her at application time because she got into NYU’s film school but did not get into USC or Chapman. She also got into the film school at Emerson and Loyola Marymount. Good luck. It is tough competitive major but one that a lot of people love.

Here is the link for the Duke/Chapman program. I didn’t know it was that expensive.
