anybody out there accepted and planning to attend Harvard SSP 2013?

I am! So excited! Is there an official facebook group yet? :)

Yes, http://www.facebook.com/home.php#!/HarvardSSP?fref=ts

Hi~Congratulations on getting admitted to Harvard SSP!!Would u please give me some advice on the supplementary questions? How many words is appropriate to make a good answer? Thx a lot!!

Thanks! I just answered them with a few sentences each! I don’t think they look too much into the word count but rather what you answer! As always, and heard from previous Harvard SSP-ers, you should answer honestly and not only aim to impress them.

Thanks a lot!! I really appreciate your answer:)

Hi,
I’ve also applied to Harvard SSP.
They’ve already received all the required documents except an IELTS-test, I’m going to make this test Saturday. This will approximately take 2 weeks until I know my grades.
But how long does it take until the Admission committee send you their decision?

well the login page says that it takes about 2 weeks after they get the full application. hope that helps…

Thank you, but I had also seen it. But I don’t really know if it really takes that time. Because I’ve read threads from 2009 and sometimes it was the day after it they knew their answers. So maybe someone who got accepted could say how long it takes. ;)

For me it took only a few days! :-)

thank you, that is good to know…

Thank you very much!
What classes are you going to take?
Does anyone has experience with the course Building Mobile Applications?

Ahhh yaaaaay got accepted as well. My best friend and I are both hopefully attending this summer. As for when I got my acceptance email, I actually got it a few days after my application was fully completed. They made a mistake and said that my transcripts were incomplete, but I was pretty sure they were, and I sent an email for them to check it again. They did, my application was complete, and 2 days later both my best friend and I got our acceptance emails! Didn’t even have to do the TOEFL, they accepted my waive. SO excited to meet everyone… it’s gonna be a blast.

Aw yay! So excited to meet you all! :-)

I did! I’m sooo pumped!!! I can’t wait!

Just saying I didnt take any language requirement tests, just submitted a language test wavier form and they accepted me about a week ago … I heard this program is not selective at all :(

Hi everyone,
i got accepted by summer programs @ Brown columbia cornell and harvard, which kinda makes me think these programs are not selective at all. so i was wondering if i should go or not anyone here can give me some advices?

According to Harvard SSP they receive about 3000 applications out which 1000 are accepted - so about a third of who apply are admitted. This doesn’t seem selective at all, but I suppose you also have to consider the academic rigor of the applicants. I’m guessing that most of the applicants are pretty good in school due to the fact that they’re applying to a rigorous summer school that’s during the whole summer. As for Brown, Columbia and Cornell, I’m not so sure! Hehe have fun making your choice :)

haha thanks!
i heard summer programs help u a little bit when applying for universities. I guess I’ll probably go to Cornell since its easier to get in.

i think it is a wonderful program from what i have seen. would go if want to have 7 weeks on the amazing campus of harvard being independent and experiencing college there. would not do to improve my ‘marketability’. fwiw
