I just recently discovered that I'll be doing research over the summer.
1. Does anyone know how late it is in applying for summer housing and a meal plan?
2. Should I be taking classes along with the research, and is it too late in registering for classes?

Talk to the housing folks ASAP. They do get openings for summer housing - especially from graduates with 12 month apartment leases. You can also check their off-campus housing site - it will include off-campus apartments looking for summer subletters. There is no meal plan for summer sessions. As for classes, it’s not too late. You can sign up even after classes have started - the only problem you’ll run into is that popular classes will be full.

Son was in the same situation a couple of summers ago. Rented a private room in Ellicott for a week or so, then was able to move into his on campus apt. This was all done through the housing office. Contact them.

Other option is sublet. Likely lots listed on Craiglist (we checked that out too).
