S1 is doing an internship in Palo Alto/Menlo Park this summer and GF is thinking of taking organic chem @ Stanford. They attend UPenn and Brown respectively so have no idea where they should live out there. I was thinking that there should probably be some good summer sublets - any idea how they could find out ? If any parent out there is cringing at the thought of paying their child's lease on an empty apartment through the summer and wants to talk - PM me)

Try Craig’s list
[peninsula sublets & temporary classifieds - craigslist](http://sfbay.craigslist.org/pen/sub/)
Stanford won’t allow grad students in Stanford housing to sublet to undergrads. But there should be groups of law and business students looking for some extra renters.

There are two easy options on Sand Hill Road, which borders the north edge of campus.
Stanford West apartments are mostly populated by Stanford faculty and staff, but I know that some students have been able to get summer rentals there.
Oakwood has a huge complex right next door, offering temporary, furnished housing.
Both locations are easy biking to any point on the Stanford campus.

Thanks for the ideas - I will pass them along!
