Summer housing near UCLA

Hi all,

I may end up with an internship in Santa Monica this summer (I don't go to UCLA, and don't live in CA), and would need to find decent summer housing in the area. Any suggestions about reputable apartments/landlords in the area? I'd be looking for anything from a studio to a 2 bedroom apartment (depending on if other interns need housing for the summer and need a room), preferably with internet access included.

Thanks!

What's your price range? The most reasonable places close to Santa Monica will be in "West LA," Mar Vista, Palms, Venice, and Culver City. Search for apartments in those areas. Avoid Westwood Village, Brentwood, and Santa Monica itself as rent is unnecessarily expensive.

it'll be hard to find an apartment with a lease for such short terms. your best bet is subletting, and theres definitely a lot of demand for subletters in the neighborhood around campus during the summer. start looking online around May.

The optimal price range would be less than $1000/mo per bedroom, since the internship pays a $1k/mo housing stipend (though I would like some money to pay for food and car, as well...). As for the timeframe, the internship would start at the end of may/june, so I'd like to get a handle beforehand. Right now I'm basically looking to get pricing though, so that if I get the internship, I can decide whether to accept it, or to go with another internship offer I have on the table.

search for streets around the area you want, or just search UCLA and check daily until you find the place you want
