Summer housing?

Are students allowed to stay on campus over the summer if they are not taking classes? In other words, could I basically stay in a dorm over the summer?

No.

You must be taking classes to stay on campus.

There are, however, many off campus housing options.

My daughter is staying in University Village over the summer and not taking classes. The UV is part of the Miami student housing system. Here is info from their site and a link:

“The seven buildings that comprise the University Village community are the newest residential facilities on the Coral Gables campus. Village residency is limited to only full-time juniors and seniors with 60+ academic credits completed-summer residency does not require students to be taking academic course.”

So AFTER sophomore year you can stay there just for the summer w/o taking classes.

With the exception of the UV. My apologies :)
