Any advise on pro/cons of taking icore the summer between sophomore and junior year? D was hoping a summer internship would come through but it hasn't so far. She's considering summer icore in order to have time to add a second major as well as study abroad spring of junior year.

Pros
Easier schedule
Bloomington is amazing during the summer and not as crowded
Less people on campus makes it easier to focus and get good grades
Can easily have a part time job

Cons
Expensive
Friends might not be in town
Lack of summer internship

All good points, maxellis, and some I hadn’t considered. Thanks. Looks like she’s likely to do it which I have mixed feelings about, but she’s thinking it through and will make a good decision I’m sure. Any other thoughts would still be appreciated.

My friends that have done summer icore highly recommended it. Not only did they say that Bloomington is an absolute blast in the summer, but it was much easier to manage in the summertime, and it made the rest of their school year significantly less stressful.
