Summer: Interning or Freelancing?

I’m a high school sophomore and I’ve been seeking out mostly corporate internships but it’s been a little tough so far, as most are only willing to accept high school graduates. There’s a possibility I may not find an internship, although I’m still trying. I’ve been wondering though, since I am pretty good at Wordpress Web design, would I be better off spending my summer as a freelance web designer?

Since I’m equally torn between interning and freelancing I’d like to know:

  1. Which would allow me to grow/learn the most?
  2. (Dont roast me for asking this) Which is going to add to my resume or college application the most? Which carries more weight?

Thank you!!

A good old fashioned high school level summer job (fast food, other restaurants, retail, etc) would look good on your resume (and your wallet) and you can web design on the side.

Bump- any other thoughts?

Update: I just got an paid internship as a business apprentice intern. But I’m still not sure if I should just freelance web design instead

Maybe you can do both?

both look great on a resume. interviewers will see that you had work ethic and showed up for work. This helps you in the future job market!
