Summer Internship in Israel

My son at Mizzou is applying for a summer internship through careerisrael.com . Does anyone know of scholarships that might defray some of the cost? I have tried our temple and the Jewish Federation in NY. There are scholarships available for semester long internships but for some reason I have been unable to find one for just the summer. BTW, we live in Colorado). Does anyone have experience with this organization? Thanks for your help.

Did you look at Onward Israel?

[Community / Organization - Onward Israel](http://www.onwardisrael.com/category/community--organization)

Quakerstate, from what I can tell Onward Israel is not offered through any of the organizations in Colorado.

His own Hillel, or his academic department… or your Denver Federation (why NY?) seem to be more promising leads…

@Blossom, I did check with the Colorado Federation. I called NY because they are the largest with the greatest number of programs and I thought they would be aware of what is available.

Can he apply to Birthright and then extend his stay? That gets his airfare paid for…

I should have mentioned: this all began with a Birthright trip in December.

Definitely look into MASA Israel, an organization that offers a number of academic and internship programs for 18-30 year olds. They have some grants and FA available, and also have advice about where else you might look for sources of funding (i.e, your local Jewish federation).

thanks for the info. Masa only offers scholarships for internships of 6 months or longer. My son would love to be there for a full semester but as a double major that isn’t feasible. He is only able to do a summer.
