Hey guys, kinda in need of some advice. I applied for only two summer programs (TASP and LBW) and I got rejected by TASP, so LBW is my last hope. I was googling some diff summer programs and came up with a lot of different options, but alas, I would have to write more essays (not even including the ones needed for financial aid) and honestly, after TASP, I'm so sick of writing these essays....

i scored a summer internship at new york times, so that's kinda my backup. should i still apply for other summer programs? is it even worth it? my main concern is that nytimes is a journalism-oriented internship, and i'm looking to do business for undergrad... so i'm afraid it wont be impressive on my app

any advice is welcome! i really need to decide soon though since all the deadlines for the summer programs are coming up

If you want to do business you might want to look into applying for the summer course I plan on going to, EPGY at Stanford University. Check out the course called "Investigations in Business":

I would personally choose the internship. This lets you get a real feel on what its like to be a journalist. Also, it will really appeal to admins.

Can I ask you though, how were you able to score an internship at such a place like the times??

Same question as sak. I need to get a job in the city this year because its most convenient since I don't have a car. I figure an internship would be best.

right sak, a feel for journalism. something i'm probably not going to go into.

i had interned for some other newspapers before, and it's not actually the one in new york--it's going to be at one of their international branch offices somewhere else
