I mean this honestly: is studying abroad one of those things you just need a lot of money for, like a good private school? Should I even bother anymore? I'm realistic in the fact that I know money will have to come out of pocket- but it seems you have to pay about 10 grand plus thousands more in living expenses (plus about 2 thousand in plane tickets) to go anywhere. I always think the school will help me with loans and grants.

Yes, living expenses are insane. Not only is London one of the most expensive cities to live in, but the exchange rate is just plain stupid. When I was there, it was just under 2-to-1 to the dollar.

The only suggestion I can make for you is this:

Your biggest expenses will come from your housing and food. For this, I would suggest a homestay. Depending on the program, you'll pay less than an apartment, and the family will generally provide you with meals.

It was easier for me because I went to school during my stay, and as a result I was given scholarships for that. I'm not sure how you would fare with an internship.
