I have a chance to work for a very cool bio fuels company this summer as an intern. it would be real work and would definitely reinforce my desire to study chemistry or some form of physical science in college.

however, the company is in New Zealand and is not that convenient for me to travel to for 4 weeks. My parents will support me doing this but I am wondering how important that kind of work is for my college applications?

I also have a chance to be part of a very cool program in China teaching minority kids English and Math and Science this summer.

Both of these are logical extensions of either academic work i have been doing for years (taking AP Chem now) or service (have been teaching migrant kids english in Shanghai for 3 years). or should i try to do both?

Any thoughts on how much these activities really matter to the AcComms is appreciated.
