Is it possible for undergrads to obtain summer internships in a law firm (any size) to determine if law is a path they should pursue? They really don't have much to offer, but it would be a good experience for them. How does a student go about finding such opportunities?

If you're willing to work without pay, I can almost guarantee that you'd get something, especially at a smaller firm that might need help. Getting something paid would be tougher, but still possible. I would ask the career services people at your school if they know of any available positions. Other than that, I would email the HR director (or even partner at a very, very small firm) at a bunch of firms a cover letter and resume.
