Hi Everyone!

I'm currently a high school junior interested in International Relations. I have excellent grades (4.0 unweighted w/ 5 APs) and am president of my school's Model UN club. I live in the Washington D.C. area, so that would be ideal- but other locations could work too Does anyone know of any internship programs or places I could work (doesn't have to be paid) this summer?

In addition, if you don't know of any internships- are there any prestigious, free programs I could apply for to participate in the summer?

You could try looking into Washington Workshops ([Washington Workshops Foundation: Home](http://www.workshops.org)). It isn’t free, and I don’t think you get paid, but it definitely sounds like a great experience.

check out Krinskys MUN/ International relations progam at penn, 50% of the students are internatonal, very cool

Well, most places in the DC area are inundated with apps from college students who will also work for free, and have more experience than you, so it’ll be nearly impossible to get a position at the better-known organizations. You might start out by applying to some smaller local places, or places where you have connections – a lot of non-profits will be glad to have the free labor.
