Summer Internships?

Hey everyone!

I’m a high schooler who’s trying to get a summer internship–– preferably virtual (you know, with the corona and everything). I have a few options in either a political science/government related internship or a journalism and writing one. I’m aiming for some highly selective schools (ivy league, stanford, uchicago) I’m planning on majoring in political science/int. affairs, so I was leaning more towards the first option, but then I realized that most of my extracurriculars already revolve around politics (speech and debate, student gov., senate shadow program, etc.) I’m trying to build a “theme” with my activities, so that I’m not too well rounded, but I don’t want all of my activities to be the same either. Do selective schools care what kind of internships you do in high school? Realistically, would they favor one more than the other? I would appreciate any advice!
