Summer Interviews

I applied to Andover Summer Session, and I should find out if I got in or not sometime next week. If I end up going, I'd like to schedule a few tours and interviews at local boarding schools. My dad offered to drive me to Andover, so hopefully he wouldn't mind driving to St. Paul's for an interview.

My question is - Do Andover and St. Paul's conduct tours and interviews during the summer? (early August) This is the only time I will be able to visit.

Thanks.

I know Andover does, but I'm not so sure about SPS. Contact them in a few weeks, after all the chaos of matriculation dies out...

I'm not too sure about SPS. But I knew Deerfield started their interviews in September...so I'm sure lots of other schools start in September too...not so sure about August.

I emailed Andover, St. Paul's, Choate, and Middlesex to see if they conduct summer interviews. Hopefully I'll get a response soon.

Jonathan, why didn't you apply to bs this year? Just wondering..

Really low SSAT score.

Jonathon -

From the SPS website: We interview throughout the year, including the summer, with the exception of school holidays and the period of February 1 - April 23.

Jonathon - I suggest you take the SSAT again this spring - test dates in April and June - to see if your low score before was a fluke. As an unhooked applicant needing FA, better scores would definitely help.

If your mom won't pay, earn the $ yourself - dog walking, babysitting, tutoring, etc.

If I took it in the spring, would I still have to take it again in the fall?

Also, I could pay for it myself. I have a lot of Christmas and birthday money lol.

I think you would have to take it in the fall. The good thing is, if you had a not so good score again this spring, it a) might not need to be reported in the fall and work your butt off studying for the SSAT or b) you could revise your school list to less competitive schools.

I may be wrong about this but check it out.

Thanks, I will.

This is from the SPS site:

It is best to arrange to take the SSAT in either November or December, but SPS will accept scores from any period within one year of the application deadline of January 15, 2007.

So that means I could take it in April, and if I do well I won't have to take it again.
