Oh wow, is it enough to let me into Japanese 2 winter quarter?

Is what enough?

Er, the language study..hehe. =x

Yeah, you should be fine.

Thanks much!~ :P

Oh and hey, sorry hehe. But did you do beginner's Japanese there? Or is there intermediate too? Thanks again!

I did 2 years before I went to Japan, so I did intermediate level there.

Mm..was this during fall quarter? Because I see an intensive language program that starts in August at ICU and then a fall quarter program. :] Did you do the language one and then go to Tsukuba?

Yes. Summer at ICU, fall at Tsukuba.

UCLAri you have given me a lead to a new path. Arigatou! =D

No problem. 気にしない。

hey do you know any internship related to investment banking or similar fields near westwood?

i wanna get an internship near westwood in summer while attending summer school.

No, I do not, but the career center almost certainly will.

Also, go to career fairs and ask the banks if they know anyone who does. Your best sources are those in the biz-- I am not in the biz.

UCLAri, did you consider study abroad options outside of EAP? Thing is, I'm an OOS student and I think there are probably more financially feasible options (not the non-resident tuition tag). I guess I'll just have to research myself or talk to the registrar or whoever to figure out which courses would transfer over decently.

I didn't, simply because I was in-state and EAP was incredibly easy to do. I met a few people who did it, though, and it usually worked out quite well. However, keep in mind that the cost as an OOSer will be even more dependent on location than as in in-stater, where the UC tries to make everything equal (i.e. Japan costs the same as Ghana costs the same as Canada.)

I heard, however, that many programs are easily transfered over. Look at programs with other schools, particularly large Ivies.

How long did you stay while in your study abroad program(s)? Do you have any friends who did year-long programs? How does it compare to say half a year? I'm going to have do some planning if I'm serious about it...

I stayed for a summer and quarter. I wish I had stayed for a year, but at the time I couldn't wait to get back and see my girlfriend (now fiancee). Most people agree that 1 year is the best minimum time spent abroad.
