Summer Job or Service Project

Every year, I go to Pittsburgh with my church group to help build houses in a week of service and religious retreat.

However, I also have the opportunity to work at a summer camp. Unfortunately, I cannot do both.

The trip is a tradition that I have to come to love, but I will be making over $1200 for the summer at the camp. If I don't take the job, I will continue working at the library where I'll probably make about half that amount.

What do you think I should do (in terms of college acceptances, money, any factors)?

Do the camp unless you absolutely need the additional $600. Colleges would probably prefer to see dedication to this type of thing than the camp.

^i agree too. Long-term commitment to anything, especially long-term volunteering, looks good.

It’s not really long-term commitment if it’s only a week a year, but working at the library is just as good as working at the summer camp.

That’s kind of contradictory. But I’m pretty sure you meant the volunteer trip.

Do what you would really enjoy doing regardless of the monetary value.
